Sneaky Slow Cooker Week

Spring Rain makes me want to hunker down over hot and hearty food even more than winter snow.  Luckily, the slow cooker can solve that both that craving and my time crunch.  A slow cooker and a rice cooker are the two kitchen appliances that everyone needs to conquer our climate and this week’s meal plan uses both to the hilt.  If you don’t have either, just use your oven at a very low temperature (say 275F) all day. It may take the dampness out of the drapes and your bones at the same time!

Shopping List:





1.5 kg boneless porkloin roast 2 carrots 1 jar salsa verde white wine
large can pure pumpkin
1/4 cup tapioca
1/4 cup bbq sauce
whole grain buns
short grain brown rice
maple syrup
can of coconut milk or
can of evaporated milk
dried coconut, unsweetened
cinnamon or cardamom
dried thyme
white pepper
chili powder
