The PDT Cocktail Book

 The PDT Cocktail Book
Written by: Jim Meehan
Illustrations by: Chirs Gall

A complete bar tending guide from one of New York’s most celebrated speak easy’s. Currently one of NYC’s hottest bars, Jim Meehan is a celebrated mixologist who’s book takes you behind the bar to discuss it’s set up, tool selections, glassware, techniques and of course – drink recipes.

Best Of The Book

This book is a wealth of knowledge! Everything you ever wanted to know about cocktails is here. And what better place to learn it then from the man at the helm of what was once the centre for underground drinking in New York during prohibition. In fact, to this day if you want to get into PDT, you enter a hot dog shop, step into a vintage phone booth, dial a number and the doors open to reveal the cocktail lounge.

Another highlight – the drawings. Bursting with colour, the illustrations give such a vibrant spark to what could have been a very dull, text book like offering.

What Could Be Better

The only thing I will say is that this book is made for those who bar tend professionally. The at home mixologist probably doesn’t need to know the inner workings of an efficient cocktail bar, but hey – information is never a bad thing!

Target Audience

This is a wonderful book for anyone who is interested in mixing cocktails. The recipes alone make this book worth the buy. But the added illustrations, the stories and the information from industry professionals make this a well rounded and wonderful book for anyone who learning more about spirits and liquors. A book you will come back to time and time again – a wonderful reference guide.
