When more is better


We are so training to think calories, calories, calories. Even when there is more evidence that being “overweight” isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Even when we know that you can have 100 excellent calories or 100 crappy calories and that they won’t burn at the same rate or do the same thing for your body. Even when we know that the 100 crappy calories may be doing something detrimental to your body, the prepackaged 100 calorie snacks just fly off the shelves.

I was recently interviewed by to contribute my thoughts to a great article… When More Calories are Better. 

What I wanted to do was give readers some insight into WHY they want the higher calorie foods in question.  You still want to keep an eye on the balance sheet and make sure that you are burning as much or more as you are taking in.  The trick is to be sure that you are burning the cleaner, more useful fuel in your own engine.  Greenhouse gases from dirty fossil fuels ain’t got nothing on the aftereffects of white flour, white sugar and transfats within your body.

I love food, try to watch my weight, know more than I want to about healthy living (sometimes I wish I knew less so I wouldn’t feel so guilty when I stumble), am a daughter, sister, friend, mom and wife who worries and scurries the meals onto the table.     Nice color choice on the blog. It is really easy on my eyes and I have bad eyes too so that’s a really big compliment lol
